These guidelines intend to provide a step-by-step manual for assessors, self-assessors, and peer assessors on how to conduct a robust self-assessment of the condition of banking regulation and supervision in their jurisdictions. The guidelines take as their point of departure the 2006 Basel Core Principles for Effective Banking Supervision (BCP), and the associated Methodology (BCPM).
